Are you passionate about federal procurement and contract compliance? Join Vertosoft’s dynamic Legal and Contracts team and play a critical role in managing our growing portfolio of government contracts. As a Federal Contract Specialist, you will oversee the full lifecycle of federal contracts, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic growth in the federal market. This position offers exposure to innovative technology solutions and the opportunity to shape Vertosoft’s federal contracting strategy. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Federal Market Expertise
    • Monitor trends and developments in federal procurement to identify strategic opportunities for growth. 
    • Advise internal teams on acquisition strategies and compliance requirements. 
  • Contract Lifecycle Management
    • Manage end-to-end federal contract processes, including proposal development, award, administration, and closeout. 
    • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations throughout the contract lifecycle. 
  • Proposal Development & Compliance
    • Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to prepare compliant and compelling responses to federal solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs). 
    • Review contract flow-downs and certifications to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Marketing & Outreach
    • Promote Vertosoft’s federal contract capabilities to government customers, suppliers, and teaming partners. 
    • Drive awareness and utilization of Vertosoft’s federal contract portfolio through targeted outreach, presentations, and participation in government-focused events. 
  • Risk Management & Audit Support
    • Analyze contract terms to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
    • Maintain organized records and ensure readiness for audits and compliance reviews. 
  • Data Accuracy & Process Improvement
    • Conduct data audits to maintain system accuracy and support informed decision-making. 
    • Continuously improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and align with evolving federal standards. 
  • Other Duties
    • Support cross-functional projects and contribute to organizational success as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or related field. 
  • Experience:
    • 2–5 years of hands-on federal government contracting experience.Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS, GSA Schedules, and federal contracting vehicles. 
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. 
  • Tools Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with federal systems such as SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, GSA Advantage, and Army CHESS. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CFCM, CPCM, or DAWIA. 
  • Advanced knowledge of federal acquisition strategies and contract structures. 
  • Experience leveraging Salesforce or similar CRM tools for contract management and business development.
