Overview

Vertosoft LLC is seeking a Senior Data Architect to Partner with senior cloud architects, business process experts, and data scientists to apply their experience-based insight and knowledge of modern cloud ETL/ELT pipeline and data storage concepts as a key member of a technology solution delivery team. 

This position can be performed remotely or on-site.

Senior Data Architect Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to creatively building cloud data solutions that are technically sound; prototyping; evaluating alternatives cloud-based products/services, applications, and solutions; and developing documentation.
  • Research new cloud native data technologies, build and evaluate prototype solutions that can be leveraged to decrease costs and increase performance and mentor client and other team members on ​data architectures and data engineering best practices and technology to drive cloud adoption.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on authority at crafting, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low-cost solutions for complex client environments using data cloud services (Redshift, Athena, Lambda, AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, S3, Aurora, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in one of the scripting languages – python, ruby, java or similar and use of Pandas or equivalent data manipulation library.
  • Demonstrable skill in AWS Networking with a proven skillset in latest AWS networking services

Required Experience

  • 4-5 years of demonstrated proficiency in the design and implementation of cloud native data architectures and solutions for data processing and pipeline orchestration using AWSservices common to serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, etc.) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, etc.) in deployment and operations. 
  • Extensive experience in anomaly detection, logging, monitoring & alerting, deep troubleshooting, and the integration of machine learning tools to build in data quality throughout the ETL/ELT data pipeline. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Security+ certification
  • Cloud certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in and familiarity with architecture modeling tools
  • Candidates must have or be able to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance within 60 days or have an active DoD Secret Clearance
