But his journey didn’t start there. Chet’s impressive portfolio also includes strategic roles with industry giants like MarkLogic Corporation, BEA Systems, and Sun Microsystems. Each chapter of his career has been a testament to his ability to not only foresee the technological curve but to apply it in support of the most demanding government missions.

Illumio, Public Sector Chief Technology Officer

Gary Barlet currently serves as Illumio’s Public Sector Chief Technology Officer where he is responsible for working with Federal and SLED agencies, contractors and the broader ecosystem to build in Zero Trust Segmentation as a strategic component of the government Zero Trust architecture. Prior to joining Illumio, he served as Chief Information Officer for the Office of the Inspector General, United States Postal Service for almost 10 years.  He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force where he served as a Cyberspace Operations Officer for 20 years where he held key leadership positions, including on the Air Force and Air National Guard CIO staffs.
