“I chose to pursue an internship in tech sales because of the rapid growth in the industry and fascination I’ve had with technology. I stepped into the role unsure of myself, but learned to embrace the challenge. I’ve improved my skills to be more inquisitive, take risks, and most importantly to keep moving forward. I’ve loved every second of this summer and I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to work in such an inclusive, welcoming environment!” ~Angie Nunno, Summer Sales Intern
“Overcoming obstacles and constantly learning is the day to day of a Sales Development Intern at Vertosoft. My people skills with conversing over the phone has improved drastically with constant advice and improvements from my colleagues. Working in the SLED industry has definitely had its ups and downs with interesting conversations related to Quadient and Customer Communications Management, you can always tell when someone hasn’t had their coffee. With the work environment of Vertosoft, it’s easy to be productive and work hard, book meetings, and get a few games of ping pong in during the day.” ~Craig Maller, Summer Sales Intern
“I chose to intern at Vertosoft to affirm my interest in pursuing a career in public sector technology sales. During my time here, I’ve learned the ins and outs of government sales, prospecting techniques, and outreach strategies. These experiences have clarified my career aspirations and reinforced my enthusiasm for pursuing a future in sales.” ~Ella McOmber, Summer Sales Intern
“My experience at Vertosoft has been amazing so far! As an intern working in both the Finance and Operations department, I have been able to learn so many concepts and skills in a short amount of time. I was able to work on meaningful projects that challenged me to expand my skill set. Whether it was looking at financial analytics or optimizing operational processes, I felt like a part of the team. The mentorship I received was invaluable and helped me explore my personal interests and combined it with what I can achieve here. Everyone has been so welcoming and kind, which makes coming to the office fun! (and worth the hour commute). Coming into this internship, I was scared if I wouldn’t be friends with my coworkers or if they would like me, but I can say that I’ve made some meaningful relationships here.In summary, my month at Vertosoft has been a rewarding adventure, and I look forward to what lies ahead!” ~Ivanna Tran, Summer Finance Intern
“Coming into this internship I was nervous knowing I would be working with State and Local Agencies and the Federal Government. I am happy to say that it was not as scary as I thought! Throughout the summer, I listened to RFP (Request for Proposal) conferences, analyzed solicitations, reviewed legal documents, assisted with pricing, and overall experienced firsthand how the procurement process works. I appreciate having the opportunity to get my foot in the door and learn extensively about an industry that interests me!” ~Kevin Kaldes, Summer Government Contract Specialist Intern
“Hello! I’m Lily Yalap, currently a senior at Virginia Tech. Securing an internship this summer was important to me because I found it crucial for me to enhance my professional skills before entering the workforce. I chose Vertosoft specifically because it offered a great opportunity to develop both my professional and sales skills in a dynamic environment where I could be heavily involved. During my time here, I’ve gained valuable insights into technology, government operations, sales, and most importantly, professional growth. The team has been incredibly supportive—whether within my department or not, everyone has been eager to help me learn and progress. I’m especially grateful to Sarah and Jay for recognizing my potential early on, and a huge thanks goes to Maria, Brad, and the entire SDR team for guiding me through the intricate and bipolar world of sales.” ~Lily Yalap, Summer Sales Intern
