My journey in tech has been mainly driven by curiosity, a drive to grow, and a willingness to take on challenges head on. Along the way, I’ve been lucky to have incredible mentors – both inside and outside my organization – who not only helped me sharpen my skills but also encouraged me to think bigger, speak up, and step into leadership roles. That level of support gave me the confidence to navigate challenges, take risks, and build the career I wanted and also reinforced something I now live by: mentorship and community are everything in this industry. No one succeeds alone, and I make it a priority to pay that forward by supporting others on my team and fostering a culture where people feel empowered to grow.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you have to take ownership of your career. Be proactive, ask for help when you need it, and don’t wait for opportunities – create them. Just as important: seek feedback, take it seriously, and give it just as openly. Feedback is only as valuable as it is timely, and the ability to both receive and deliver constructive input is what drives real growth. The tech industry moves fast, and the people who thrive are the ones willing to bet on themselves, step outside their comfort zones, and keep learning. Advocate for yourself, surround yourself with people who challenge and support you, and don’t be afraid to go after what you want.
I love seeing the progress women are making in this space, and I appreciate Vertosoft for taking the time to celebrate these achievements. Thanks for the opportunity to share my story!
